Sahih Ahadith About Umar (may Allah be pleased with him)

- Narrated Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him): We have been
powerful since Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) embraced Islam.
(Sahih Bukhari: 62/34)

- Allah's Messenger (peace be upon
him) said: By Him in Whose Hand is my life, if satan would encounter you
(Umar) in the way he would certainly take a different way from that of
yours.
(Sahih Muslim: 44/32)

- The Prophet (peace be upon
him) said, "Among the nation of Bani Israel who lived before you, there
were men who used to be inspired with guidance though they were not
prophets, and if there is any of such persons amongst my followers, it
is Umar (may Allah be pleased with him)"
(Sahih Bukhari: 62/40)

- Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said:
While I was asleep I saw (in a dream) a cup containing milk being
presented to me. I took out of that until I perceived freshness being
reflected through my nails. Then I presented the leftover to Umar b.
Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him). They said: Allah's Messenger:
How do you interpret it? He said: This implies knowledge.
(Sahih Muslim: 44/21)

- Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said, "While I
was sleeping, the people were presented to me (in a dream). They were
wearing shirts, some of which were merely covering their (chests). and
some were a bit longer. Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) was
presented before me and his shirt was so long that he was dragging it."
They asked, "How have you interpreted it, O Allah's Messenger (peace be
upon him)?" He said, "Religion."
(Sahih Bukhari: 62/42)

- The
Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "In a dream I saw myself drawing
water from a well with a bucket. Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with
him) came and drew a bucket or two weakly. May Allah forgive him. Then
Umar bin Al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) came and the bucket
turned into a very large one in his hands. I had never seen such a
mighty person as he in doing such hard work till all the people drank to
their satisfaction and watered their camels that knelt down there.

- Umar (may Allah be pleased with him)
said, "O Ibn Abbas! (may Allah be pleased with him) Find out who
attacked me." Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) kept on looking
here and there for a short time and came to say. "The slave of Al
Mughira." On that Umar said, "The craftsman?" Ibn Abbas said, "Yes."
Umar said, "May Allah curse him. I did not treat him unjustly. All the
Praises are for Allah Who has not caused me to die at the hand of a man
who claims himself to be a Muslim.
