Pakistan faced its toughest challenge right after its creation in 1947.
Muslim League had to accept the 3rd June plan which meant that many
Muslim majority areas were given to India along with the only arsenal
that was supposed to be given to Pakistan, India also got the headworks
of Sutlej and Bayaas at Firozpur, and in the shape of Gurdaspur, the land
route to Kashmir.
Pakistan had no arsenal, its army was scattered, there was no money to even pay the salaries of its civil servants, more than one million Muslims had been systematically slain in the fields of Punjab and more than 10 million migrated to Pakistan (one of the largest migrations in history) leaving behind all their businesses and properties. The treatment and rehabilitation of these emigrants was an enormous challenge. Then on October 27, India invaded and captured Kashmir and General Gracey, Pakistan’s commander in chief refused Quaid-e-Azam’s orders and didn't send troops to Kashmir arguing that the Indian army had taken an oath in the name of King George so he cannot start a war against it. In the light of all these enormous challenges, the Indian leaders and media had been saying that Pakistan will crumble and will beg to rejoin India within months.
In such turbulent times, Quaid-e-Azam addresses the nation at Lahore on October 30, 1947. This is one of the most amazing speeches of Quaid-e-Azam I have ever heard. I literally have tears in my eyes right now. Anyone who has any doubts about the ideology of Pakistan and Quaid-e-Azam’s vision of Pakistan must see this video. Every Pakistani who is feeling depressed and hopeless about the state of Pakistan today must know what Quaid-e-Azam taught us about facing challenges.
Here is a 70-year old man who is fighting tuberculosis which has taken a great toll on his health and he has been told that he doesn’t have long to live. Who struggled all through his life for the rights of Muslims, his efforts finally culminating in the creation of Pakistan and even at this old age and failing health, he has been trusted with leading Pakistan in such challenging times.
When you hear this speech, you get to know the passion, the love and the dedication that drove our dear Quaid-e-Azam, a true Mujahid of Allah and His Prophet (S.A.W.). This belief, hopefulness, hard work, dedication and grit created Pakistan and now we need it again for the safety of Pakistan and the completion of Pakistan movement.
MUSALMAN! MUSEEBAT MEY! GHABRAYA NHI KARTA!!!
(A Muslim! does not lose hope! in the face of a calamity!!)
*Goosebumps every time*
May Allah Almighty have mercy on Quaid-e-Azam, may He raise Quaid-e-Azam's status in the paradise, and may He give us the ability to make Pakistan a bulwark of Islam as Quaid-e-Azam wanted.
