Every soul has to taste death. It is on the Day of Judgement that you shall be paid your rewards in full. So, whoever has been kept away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise has truly succeeded. The life of this world is nothing but an illusionary enjoyment.
(Surah Ale-Imran, Chapter 3, Verse 185)
Death is certain for all beings whether it is humans, animals, jinns or angels, each and every one will have to die one day. No one can live forever except Allah Almighty himself.
Success in this life does not mean that Allah is happy with you, on the other hand if your life is very tough and full of trials then it does not mean that Allah is angry with you. That is not the criteria for success. All the Prophets of Allah and all the friends of Allah had to face many hardships in their lives. These trials taught them many beneficial lessons and turned them in to such beautiful characters as we know them today. The true success or the true failure of a person will only be established on the Day of Judgement. Whoever is successful on that day is truly successful because he will get to enjoy heaven for all eternity. What is success in this world compared to that? Nothing!
Therefore we must set our priorities straight. Our main focus should be on attaining success in the hereafter. Success in this world and all its luxuries and enjoyments are temporary and fleeting. They are nothing except an illusion compared to the luxuries of the hereafter.
